Grand Traverse Pie Company Launches 'Pie for the Cure' on
NATIONAL PIE DAY, WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23
(Traverse City, Michigan) – January, 2008 – Grand Traverse Pie Company is celebrating the homemade comforts of PIE... Wednesday, January 23 during NATIONAL PIE DAY! This year the comforts are even warmer at Grand Traverse Company on National Pie Day. On January 23rd, every Grand Traverse Pie Company will welcome the first 100 guests with a free 'Pie for the Cure' mug with the purchase of a whole pie – commemorating the first day of the outreach program.
Grand Traverse Pie Company, through its 'Pie for the Cure' program will donate 50 cents of every 9" pie sold beginning on National Pie Day and running through Mother's Day to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Fund.
There's more fun to be had during National Pie Day at every location of the Grand Traverse Pie Visit any of the nine Michigan Grand Traverse Pie Company (GTPC) shops on Tuesday, January 23rd, and the first 100 patrons will receive a commemorative Pie Day coffee mug with the purchase of your favorite pie... and everyone is invited to register to WIN FREE PIE FOR A YEAR!
Visitors to any Michigan GTPC will smell the aromas flowing from the open air, from-scratch kitchen, immediately. Seasonal favorites like traditional Michigan cherry, apple, or Blueberry pie; pumpkin and pecan pies; or even chocolate cream lend comforting scents that fill the entire café.
National Pie Day is dedicated to the celebration of pie. As part of our American heritage, this day is a perfect opportunity to pass on the comforts of Pie and celebrate Michigan! During National Pie Day, Mike Busley, President of GTPC and known as throughout the state as "The Pie Guy" encourages everyone to enjoy the ultimate "comfort food" by giving a gift of pie to a favorite friend or neighbor. He's certain that your generosity will long be remembered. With over 50 varieties of pies, a Grand Traverse Pie makes for a perfect gift – all with the perfect Michigan twist. Each GTPC fruit pie is made with REAL Northern Michigan fruit and preserves, and Michigan made flour.
Visitors to the destination café famous for its cherry pie will experience all of the sights and sensations of an active "real food" kitchen. During National Pie Day, guests are even invited to taste a sample of something "just out of the oven".
