50,000 Hand-crafted, Homemade Pies From Scratch Will Be Made This Thanksgiving Season!
(Traverse City & East Lansing, Michigan) – October 20, 2007 – Fall flavors and autumn aromas fill every Grand Traverse Pie Company location this season. Enter any of the 12 Grand Traverse Pie Company (GTPC) shops throughout the state during harvest time – and you will find it's Appleicious Time. Aromas flowing from the open air, from-scratch kitchen, immediately fill one's senses. Apple pies, pumpkin pies, pecan pies, and caramel apple dumplings lend homespun scents that fill the entire café.
During harvest time, Mike Busley, President of GTPC and known as throughout the Midwest and beyond as "The Pie Guy", encourages planning ahead with pie this season. "Each neighborhood 'Pie Team' is willing to work all hours for our guests to assure that their favorite Thanksgiving pie is ready for pick-up. We'll make over 50,000 pies during the week of Thanksgiving – all by hand, one-by-one, baked lovingly especially for our guests," explained Busley.
In addition to crafting holiday pies for patrons to pick-up, the Grand Traverse Pie Company will ship the Michigan-made pies throughout the country, from Alaska to Maine, Florida to California. Shipping details are found at www.gtpie.com .
With over 25 varieties of pies, a Grand Traverse Pie makes for a perfect ending to a holiday meal. Patrons visiting any of the 12 GTPC locations this season may pre-order harvest holiday pies to assure the perfect pie-pickup time.
Visitors to the destination café famous for its cherry pie will experience all of the sights and sensations of an active "real food" kitchen, in addition to enjoying free WiFi. Guests are even invited to taste a sample of something "just out of the oven".
